ABOUT ADELINA IVAN
ADELINA IVAN graduated the art academy in Bucharest with a degree in design. In 2004 she launched the brand Zasha, a pret-a-porter line for an audience of young and creative people. Zasha Collections were meant to be a tongue-in-cheek reaction to the conformism of street fashion, bringing color, rebellion and imagination to a place that until then was ruled by shades of gray and uniformity.

Five years after the official launch, the designer created a new label that bears her name, ADELINA IVAN, which covers an area of high-end fashion, focusing on the people with an aesthetic sense, emphasizing strong individuality and an artistic side of life. Following her AW 09 collection, critical praise now comes in thick and fast. Admirers are seduced by ADELINA IVAN’s ability to create new garments with a retro-futuristic vision: her paintings, her fascination with structures and volumes, pop culture references are also strong keys and “back to the future” seems to be her motto.

The work of ADELINA IVAN is infused with sensibilities that might be culled from high art, classic movies or leading-edge music, always with an eye for functional simplicity and adventurous cutting. The SS 10 Collection was featured at pret-a-porter Paris 2009 trade fair in September and now is found in stores from Paris, NY, Athens, Milan, Kuwait and Beirut. The last AW 2010 Collection has been presented in March at the fashion show at Grand Hyatt Tokio and in June at Romanian Fashion Week.
